What it does
RIRRI’S makes a portfolio explorable as a small store. Projects appear as products or store areas: selected work on the Deli & Sweets shelf, experiments in the ice-cream freezer, and older work on the magazine rack. Picking up a project opens its reader. The store’s multi-copy machine leads to About; the red postbox opens a contact postcard.
The reader contains the richer case-study experience: chapters, project media, interactive demonstrations, and English/Chinese presentation. Existing hash routes such as #/work/agentwatch remain shareable destinations in that experience. A Work index also gives a direct route to the projects without requiring a shelf-by-shelf search.
The scene and reader preserve navigation state. Closing a reader returns to the camera and place it opened from, while browser Back steps through the navigation. Keyboard paths include skip links, the Store guide, arrow-key browsing, Enter to pick up, and Escape to step back. Reduced-motion preferences replace camera flights and paper transitions with shorter fades.
The annex-enabled world adds a separate House scene. Entering the House loads its interior on demand and switches the scene being rendered. The House is a study with a desk, record nook, projector, shelves, daybed, and a window onto a seasonal landscape. Its floor plan provides local destinations. Calendar, clock, and barometer controls change season, time, and weather through the shared world state.
Contact and portfolio readers can open from inside the House and return to the room. The interior and its controls are the approved October baseline; the exterior’s further art pass and additional content slots remain work in progress. Planned Secret Well content is not shipped portfolio functionality.
What I worked on
I worked on the portfolio’s concept, art direction, interaction design, content presentation, and implementation, using AI-assisted development. The work connects Three.js scenes, motion, project packaging, readers, route handling, and return-state behavior. The store and House belong to one explorable portfolio, while this factual record provides a quick explanation outside the 3D experience.
What has been checked
The store handoff documents Chrome checks at a 1440 × 900 desktop viewport and a 390 × 844 touch-emulated phone viewport. These include freezer-to-reader navigation, archive paths, browser Back, English/Chinese reader presentation, reduced motion, and keyboard-only opening and closing. Phone viewport emulation is not a physical-phone reliability claim.
Recorded return checks compare camera state numerically after leaving a reader. The House checks include direct #/house entry, entry through the exterior, Escape from a spot and the room, floor-plan destinations, contact and Work readers from inside, browser Back to the outside pose, and travel through a map pin. The handoff also checks that the original store remains available with the annex flag off.
These are documented interaction observations for particular browser builds. They establish the paths checked, not broad performance across devices or independent visitor usability.
On 20 October 2026 the store was made lighter on phones: 846 draw calls per frame became 531, with the picture checked pixel by pixel against the earlier build. The method and every measurement are in Fewer Draw Calls, the Same Picture; a check on a physical iPhone is still to come.
Related notes and evidence
The House study update records the interior milestone, and the draw-call update the phone performance pass. The portfolio README and store/House handoff are the underlying sources for the behavior described here.
The factual project records on this Homepage are an additional reading surface. RIRRI’S remains the destination for project motion, bilingual storytelling, and exploration.
