Iris

I’m Iris. I build small, honest products with AI, and I keep notes on what each one teaches me.

Watch apps that answer one question at a glance, agents that refuse to invent evidence, and tools for small online shops. Lately the thread is AI agents: what they can really automate, which product experiments hold up, and what small shops need once agents start shopping. I’m finishing an M.Eng. at Cornell.

Thinking about

  • AI that does the work instead of chatting about it
  • evidence you can check, not just believe
  • calm tools that know when to stay quiet
  • tools for small shops and cross-border sellers

Fewer Draw Calls, the Same Picture

RIRRI'S, the little 3D shop where my projects live, asked a phone to draw 846 separate things every frame. I brought that down to 531 without changing anything you can see. This is the method in seven steps, with the numbers from each and what to try on your own scene.

  • Walmart lets agents in

This is what ‘open to agents’ looks like when a store actually designs for it. The MCP server matters less to me than the agent profile: each agent gets its own place in your account and a spending limit, like an authorized user on a credit card. Trust finally has a shape you can see and take back.

  • Amazon × Muse

This is the cleanest example I’ve seen so far of why ‘legible to agents’ and ‘open to agents’ are two different problems.

  • Agents as insider threats

It sounds dramatic, but it’s the honest frame: an agent with access is like a new hire who is great at the task and doesn’t know the norms. Microsoft’s answer is permissions that change with the task, which is Walmart’s idea from the other side of the counter. It also sells the security product, so I read the framing with that in mind.

  • OpenAI on Google Cloud

Model access is turning into plumbing. When GPT-6 runs inside Google’s platform and Codex can point at it, the model stops being the moat, and the question becomes who owns the place where the work happens.
